Meet Dr. Oyangen

Roy Oyangen, DMD
Dentistry allows me to improve the lives of thousands of people. My team makes every effort to make the patient's time with us as comfortable and efficient as possible. When the patient looks me in the eye and says, "I can't stop showing off my beautiful smile. Everyone I meet is so jealous!" I know I have done my best.
Education and Continuing Education
I completed my Undergraduate Degree at State University of New York at Albany, and my dental training at Fairleigh Dickenson University's College of Dental Medicine in Hackensack, NJ. I then studied cosmetic dentistry under Dr. Ross Nash at the Nash Institute for Dental Learning in Charlotte, NC, and am an active member in the American Academy Of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Since beginning my sole proprietorship in 1997, I have completed thousands of hours in continuing education courses while learning all types of dental treatment modalities. I average ten full days of continuing education each year. The classes and courses I take involve all subjects in oral implantology, endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, cosmetic restorations, and oral rehabilitation. The materials we use are improving every day, and it is my obligation to be aware of the latest procedures, materials, and equipment available.

Professional Dedication
After 25 years of helping people, my dentistry continues to improve every day. My enjoyment at providing dentistry increases every year as the technology and equipment available gets better. I can do dentistry faster, more efficiently, and more comfortably than ever before. I love dentistry because my job allows me to improve lives by removing pain and restoring confidence and self-esteem! When a patient leaves me with a relieved smile, it always makes my day, and I am grateful for what I do.
I am always striving to bridge the gap between oral health and general health by educating local physicians about the connection between oral health and total health. I also represent the American Academy Of Dental Sleep Medicine in educating local physicians about the role the dental professional has in treating patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Family and Community
I was born in Brooklyn, and have been providing dentistry in Schenectady for the past 25 years. In my family, I have a wonderful partner, Denise, four children, three Labradoodles, and now two grandsons!
When I'm not in the office, I love to golf, ski, travel, and play with our dogs. I am also an active volunteer firefighter with Rotterdam District #2, along with my daughter. We have been volunteering for the past two years, and really enjoy the experience!
